The government reportedly told a tribunal that Deloitte was misreading law by arguing that the case against it should be dismissed as its term at IL&FS unit IFIN had ended when the fraud was alleged. "Fraud continuing till date on account of errant past auditor...can be covered under law," it added. India is seeking a 5-year ban on Deloitte India.
