The Metropolitan Police has launched a criminal investigation into the alleged leak of emails in which the UK's former ambassador to the US, Kim Darroch, had criticised US President Donald Trump's government. He'd called the Trump government "inept" and "incompetent". The alleged leak has "damaged UK international relations", Neil Basu, Assistant Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, said.
