Tesla CEO Elon Musk wrote, "Tesla Autopilot was literally named after the term used in aviation", responding to a Twitter user. Earlier, a German court had banned Tesla from using advertising terms like "Autopilot" or "full potential for autonomous driving" saying it could mislead customers. The user had highlighted a definition of autopilot on Wikipedia.
