The BJP won 47 of the 75 municipalities in the Gujarat civic elections on Monday, while the Congress secured 16 municipalities. In the 2013 polls, the BJP had secured 59 municipalities while the Congress had managed 11, reports said. The municipal elections come two months after the BJP won the Assembly elections with 99 seats, against the Congress' 77 seats.
