The Multi Purpose Stall Policy issued by the Railway Board has made it mandatory for kiosks on all zonal railway platforms to display and sell books on Indian culture, values, morals, and history. The new policy replaces the Bookstall Policy of 2004 which mandated that stalls sell books on varied subjects like literature, travel, culture, current affairs, and national integration.
