The father of a bride in Uttar Pradesh allegedly tried to commit suicide by hanging himself after the groom cancelled the marriage a day before the wedding ceremony over dowry. Reportedly, the groom's family demanded additional dowry of ₹5 lakh from the bride's father, who had already given ₹1 lakh and other belongings earlier.
