The Canadian city of Mississauga has allowed local Hindu temples to broadcast the Hanuman Chalisa and Gayatri Mantra through loudspeakers over the course of Janmashtami, Ganesh Chaturthi and Onam. Hindu Forum Canada had sought the permission for temples to broadcast, stating that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Hindu devotees, especially senior citizens, were unable to visit the temples.
