China is trying to turn Taiwan into "the next Hong Kong", island's Foreign Minister Joseph Wu said during a meeting with US Health Secretary Alex Azar. "Our daily lives have become...difficult as China continues to pressure Taiwan into accepting its political conditions," he added. Azar is the highest-level US official to visit Taiwan since diplomatic relations were severed in 1979.
