DNA replication rhythm could be used to kill cancer cells
short by Gaurav Shroff / on Saturday, 18 November, 2017
A Denmark-based study has shown how human cells regulate the process of replicating DNA by maintaining a periodic flow of building blocks called nucleotides. In case of problems with nucleotide production, a chemical signal is released alerting the cells. Researchers further showed they can deactivate the chemical signal to disrupt replication of DNA in cancer cells, thereby killing them.
