The Maharashtra government has declared drought in 12,000 villages across Vidarbha. The move will help farmers growing cotton, paddy and soybean across the region in availing the special drought package under the National Disaster Relief Fund (NDRF) guidelines. Earlier, district officials had reported that these villages were not eligible for the drought package.
