US scientists have warned that earthquakes could kill up to 1 billion people living along the equator next year. Fluctuations in the speed of Earth's rotation could trigger a number of devastating earthquakes across the globe, they added. The scientists further said that massive shifts in energy beneath Earth's surface could cause around 20 earthquakes a year starting from 2018.
