For the first time in 130 years, researchers have discovered a new species of sunfish, the Hoodwinker Sunfish, which is found in the Indo-pacific region. "The process we had to go through to confirm its new species status included consulting publications from as far back as the 1500s", the team's lead researcher Marianne Nyegaard said.
