American actor George Clooney, who sold his tequila brand Casamigos on Wednesday, could earn up to $233 million (₹1,500 crore) pretax, from the deal. Clooney co-founded the brand with businessmen Rande Gerber and Mike Meldman and sold it for $1 billion to British alcoholic beverages company Diageo. Notably, the tequila business initially began as a private selection for Clooney's acquaintances.
