Golf returns to Olympics after 112 years

The 2016 Rio games will be the first Olympics after 112 years to host a golf event. Golf was discontinued in Olympics after being played in 1900 and 1904 but has been reintroduced for the 2016 and 2020 Olympics. Several top-ranked golfers including world number one Jason Day and four-time major winner Rory McIlroy have withdrawn from the event.
