Hotels and food outlets, including restaurants, will have to declare the kind of oil or fat used in cooking each of the food items on their menus if a proposal by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India is passed. FSSAI also wants to make it mandatory for restaurants to buy raw materials only from licensed or registered vendors.
