US-based Virgin Hyperloop One has signed an MoU with Maharashtra government for a Hyperloop between Mumbai and Pune, reducing the travel time for 140-km distance to 25 minutes. It plans to start testing in three years, while the project is estimated to be completed by 2025. Hyperloop is a transportation concept wherein pods travel at high speeds in near-vacuum tubes.
