The 27th Ig Nobel Prize spoof awards on Thursday honoured researcher Marc-Antoine Fardin for his paper 'Can a Cat Be Both a Solid and a Liquid?' inspired by photos of cats inside glasses and buckets. The awards, which recognise unusual accomplishments in science, awarded researchers for discovering "a female penis, and a male vagina, in a cave insect," among others.
