India's first privately designed and operated rocket launchpad was inaugurated at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota by S Somanath, Chairman of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). It was designed by space technology startup Agnikul Cosmos and built in collaboration with ISRO. The facility includes a launchpad and a mission control centre separated by a distance of 4 km.
