Indonesian authorities on Tuesday seized a record 1,600 kg of crystal methamphetamine, known locally as 'shabu-shabu', from a ship off the northern island of Batam. Earlier this month, authorities confiscated over 1,000 kg of the drug. Indonesia's anti-narcotics laws are among the world's strictest with drug trafficking punishable by death.
