Japan spacecraft lands on asteroid 300 mn km away for 2nd time

Japan's space agency JAXA has confirmed that its Hayabusa2 spacecraft has successfully landed on asteroid Ryugu about 300 million km away from Earth for second time. The $270-million spacecraft had dropped a 2-kg bomb to create a small crater on the asteroid in April. Hayabusa2 will again fire a bullet at the asteroid to collect sub-surface samples blown by it.
