29-year-old television journalist Santanu Bhowmik was hacked to death near Tripura's capital Agartala on Wednesday while covering a clash between the Tripura Upajati Gan Mukti Parishad and the Indigenous Peoples Front of Tripura (IPFT). He was repeatedly stabbed by sharp weapons, reports said. Following the incident, Section 144 has been imposed in West Tripura & Khowai.
