Lebanese security officials had in July warned country's leaders about the 2,750 tonnes of ammonium nitrate stored in Beirut, according to a Reuters report. Security officials said that the ammonium nitrate posed a security risk and could destroy the capital if it exploded, the report added. The ammonium nitrate went up in a massive blast, killing at least 163 people.
