The Communist Party of India (Maoist) has reportedly released an audio message, stating the attack on CRPF personnel in Sukma was in retaliation to the gang-rapes of tribal women by the security forces. In the five-minute-long audio, a CPI (Maoist) leader is reportedly heard criticising the government for creating a 'fascist' atmosphere. In the attack, 25 jawans were martyred.
