Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson in an interview said lawmakers and media "cherry pick" scientific papers to reinforce political ideals on climate change. Tyson asserted making policies based on few papers that downplay human-induced climate change is "simply irresponsible". Highlighting recent hurricanes, he feared if climate change discussion is delayed, it might become impossible to recover.
