NASA-backed team returns from 8-month isolation near volcano

After eight months of living in isolation near the world's largest active volcano in Hawaii, a six-member crew emerged from their Mars-like habitat on Sunday. The NASA-funded study was aimed at understanding long-term space mission's psychological effects on astronauts. In isolation, the crew wore spacesuits, shared a 111-sq-meter habitat and had a 20-minute communication delay with outside world.
