The RBI has a group looking into cryptocurrencies as legal tender, but is uncomfortable with Bitcoins, RBI Executive Director Sudarshan Sen said. "As regards non-fiat cryptocurrencies, I think, we are not comfortable with them," Sen stated. Notably, the RBI has repeatedly cautioned against virtual currencies, stating that they pose potential financial, legal, and security-related risks.
