A 2-kilometre road that charges vehicles while they are moving has been opened for public use in Sweden. The energy is transferred from two tracks of rail in the road via a movable arm attached to the vehicle's bottom and automatically disconnects when the road ends. The system then calculates consumed energy and enables electricity costs to be debited.
