Scientists find extinct humans' DNA in caves without bones
short by Gaurav Shroff / on Friday, 28 April, 2017
Germany-based researchers have developed a method to retrieve prehistoric human DNA from cave sediments in the absence of skeletal remains. Researchers said that fossils are not always available for genetic analyses, so they looked for sediments at archaeological sites known to have been occupied by ancient humans. Researchers also identified DNA of the woolly mammoth, rhinoceros, among others.
