SA Jafri, the President of AAP's teachers’ wing, on Wednesday said that a new notification issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC) will reduce teachers to “bonded labourers”. The notification increases teachers' lecture-taking hours from 16 to 24 per week. AAP's Delhi unit Convener Dilip Pandey said that the new rule is likely to affect 3,500 ad hoc DU teachers.
