Electric vehicle maker Tesla has remotely increased the range of its cars in Florida, USA to help Hurricane Irma victims evacuate. Tesla uses a 75kWh battery in the 60kWh version of its Model S and Model X vehicles but locks it on the software side. After the range upgrade, vehicles reportedly ran an additional 48.2 km on a single charge.
