Tejas Thackeray, Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray's son, and a team of researchers have discovered a new fish species, Hiranyakeshi loach. The species was discovered in the Sahyadris region of the Western Ghats. Tejas said the species has been named after its type locality and the epithet "hiranyakeshi" also means 'golden hair' alluding to the golden colouration seen in adults.
