Over 100 high-risk prisoners escaped from a prison in Tortola in the British Virgin Islands during the chaos caused by Hurricane Irma. Residents reported looting and claimed escaped prisoners had committed a rape while on the loose. They were captured following an operation by British Virgin Island and Cayman Island police officers, alongside British Royal Marines and police.
