A 16-year-old boy was killed by a bear while competing in a mountain race in Alaska on Sunday, authorities have said. The deceased had completed the halfway point and was on his way down when he texted his mother saying a black bear was chasing him. Officials attempted to locate him and found his body, while the bear escaped.
