Air Intelligence Unit officers intercepted two United Arab Emirates passport holders who were allegedly carrying 199 live turtles in four checked-in bags on Thursday at the Mumbai airport. The two bought the turtles in Mumbai and were planning to smuggle them into the UAE. Schedule I of the Wildlife Act bans the import and export of such turtles in India.
