400 people once danced non-stop for a month in France

About 400 residents of Strasbourg, France danced continuously for over a month in 1518. The 'Dancing Plague' started after a woman stepped into the street and started dancing without music for around a week. Later, more people joined her, resulting in deaths from exhaustion. Local physicians blamed the epidemic on 'hot blood' and encouraged people to 'dance away the fever'.
