Experiments conducted by an Israeli professor have supported one of Stephen Hawking's predictions about black holes. He simulated a black hole in a super-cooled state of matter called a Bose-Einstein condensate and observed that particles were spontaneously escaping his replica black hole. This is in accordance with 'Hawking radiation' predicted to be released by black holes.
