Bluetooth was named after a king of Denmark

Wireless technology Bluetooth was named after a 10th century Danish king, Harald ‘Bluetooth’, who is believed to have a visible ‘blue’ tooth. It occurred to the engineers that just like Harald had united Denmark, the new technology would unite different devices, hence the name. Interestingly, the name ‘Flirt’ was also proposed to suggest that devices got close without touching.
