The central government’s policy think tank Niti Aayog, in collaboration with the HRD ministry, is working on an index which will rank states on the basis of their performance in education. The performance will be tracked “on a realtime basis”, and any swings in the ranking of states can be seen on a dedicated website, an expert said.
