HDFC has sold around 1.29 crore shares of real-estate firm Unitech in the open market and invoked nearly 8.2 crore pledged shares of the company. Promoters hold 17.92% stake in Unitech, of which 73% is pledged. This come while Unitech has been facing protest from homebuyers over delays in the completion of about 70 projects involving more than 16,000 flats.
