Coober Pedy is a town in South Australia famous for its underground residences called 'dugouts', which are built in this fashion due to the scorching daytime heat. The town has a population of 3,500 with people from over 45 nationalities. Apart from the residences, it also has establishments like an underground museum, art gallery, shops, churches and bars.
