Author JK Rowling, in a post on website Pottermore, revealed that there were two characters named Harry Potter in the wizarding world. Rowling revealed that Henry Potter, also known as Harry, was Harry's great-grandfather. "Henry Potter (Harry to his intimates), was a direct descendant of Hardwin and Iolanthe, and served on the Wizengamot from 1913-1921," wrote Rowling.
