Pluto, a dwarf planet, takes 248 Earth years to orbit the Sun, meaning a year on Pluto is approximately 248 years on Earth. The dwarf planet, which takes 6.5 Earth days to rotate on its axis, has five known moons. It was discovered by American astronomer Clyde Tombaugh in 1930, while its name was suggested by an 11-year-old girl.
