Researchers give 'Harry Potter' name to new spider species

A group of researchers in Mumbai has named a newly-found species of spider 'Eriovixia gryffindori', after the fictitious wizard Godric Gryffindor from the Harry Potter series. It has been named after the character owing to its similarity to the Hogwart's magical Sorting Hat. The spider, which is around 7-millimetre in length, was found in the central Western Ghats in Karnataka.
