Scientists make transparent material 'absorb' light
short by Gaurav Shroff / on Thursday, 30 November, 2017
A group of physicists from Russia, Sweden, and the US has demonstrated a material with no light-absorbing capacity to "virtually" absorb light. Scientists found the transparent layer neither transmitted nor reflected incident electromagnetic radiation when its intensity was exponentially increased. However, when the exponential growth was halted, the energy locked in the layer was released.
