Uber's CEO Dara Khosrowshahi has said, "we can turn the knobs to get this business even on a full basis profitable, but you would sacrifice growth and sacrifice innovation." Last month, Khosrowshahi had claimed that Uber's core ride-hailing business will be profitable before 2022. The cab-hailing startup incurred $4.5 billion losses in fiscal year 2017.
