UK man wins World Scrabble Championship

Brett Smitheram, a 37-year-old British man, has won the World Scrabble Championship after using the word 'Braconid', meaning a parasitic wasp, which earned him the highest score of 176 points. Smitheram, who works as a recruitment consultant, has won €7,000 (nearly ₹5.2 lakh) after beating 49-year-old Mark Nyman. Earlier, Smitheram had reached the quarterfinals of the championship in 2014.
