UK's most endangered butterfly revived over 3 decades

The 'Large Blue' butterfly which became extinct in Britain in 1979, is thriving after three decades of conservation efforts like scrub clearance and grassland maintenance. With around 10,000 butterflies laying over 2,50,000 eggs, the butterfly species has witnessed the highest numbers seen in over 80 years. Notably, it's the only UK butterfly still on the IUCN's list of threatened species.
