Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman denied a report that Income Tax Department is planning changes after Lok Sabha elections. "Wonder where this is coming from. Was not even double-checked with Finance Ministry. Pure speculation," said Sitharaman. The report claimed that the tax department will prioritise measures to prevent tax base erosion and impose uniform treatment for all asset classes.
