Amazon and Google have reportedly suspended PERM applications, often the first step to a US Green Card, amid layoffs. While Amazon will continue to pause all new PERM filings through 2024, Google won't restart the process until at least Q1 2025, Business Insider reported. PERM certification allows an employer to hire a foreign worker to work permanently in the US.
