The National High-Speed Rail Corporation (NHSRCL) has begun the mechanised track installation for India's first bullet train, which will operate between Mumbai and Ahmedabad. This is the first time that the J-slab or ballast-less track system is being used in India. The machinery has been especially designed and manufactured according to Japanese specifications, NHSRCL said.
